  • Do you offer after-school, evening, or weekend appointments?
    Yes! After-school, evenings, and weekend appointments ARE AVAILABLE! While we do offer daytime appointments - great for while the kids are at school, we do also offer expanded service times to meet the needs of kids, families, and those who may not be able to get off during the daytime.
  • Cancellation Policy?
    Clients agree to our 24-hour cancellation policy by accepting services with Aloe Vera Counseling, PLLC. A full session fee is charged if there is less than 24 hours cancellation. When clients reserve an appointment, access to that specific time is not available to anyone else, as it is a dedicated time reserved for YOU. It is a courtesy to both the therapist and others to reschedule at least 24 hours in advance if a conflict arises with the scheduled appointment. Log in to your client portal to reschedule or cancel your appointment (just as you do to schedule an appointment.) You can also call or text our office (210) 901-8055, during standard working hours Mon-Thurs 10am - 6pm to speak to our office staff. Messages and texts received after hours, weekends, or during holidays are responded to in the order they are received the following business day.
  • Do you send appointment reminders?
    As a courtesy, automated appointment reminders are sent via email 2 days prior and text reminders are sent 1 day prior to an appointment. This provides clients time to reschedule if needed.
  • As a parent or legal guardian will I be involved in my child's therapy?
    To some extent. During the first session the therapist will want to speak with both you and the child. For follow-up sessions the therapist may want to check-in and the beginning and/or the end of each session. Additionally, parent consultations may be held per your request and as the therapist may see necessary. We understand this process may cause your own anxieties and you may have your own questions. We strive to ensure your questions are heard and responded.
  • What insurance do you accept?
    We currently accept: Aetna Cigna Blue Cross Blue Shield We are in the process of becoming in network with TriCare. We also offer a Low-Cost Sliding Scale.
  • Are there benefits to Private Pay?
    Yes! • Your mental health records remain completely confidential. • Increased confidentiality, diagnosis, treatments, and session notes are not shared with a 3rd party, therefore, do not become part of your medical record. • Your insurance rate is not affected. • Insurance companies will often limit number of sessions, regardless of your progress. • Treatment is not determined by insurance but by your mental health professional. • Insurance requires a diagnosis on the first session and can then decline to cover services if they determine your counseling services are not medically necessary. • “Private pay” therapist typically carries smaller caseloads, have shorter waiting list, and more availability. • YOU choose your therapist. You are not restricted to a list of providers chosen by your insurance company for you.
  • Can I get an Invoice?
    An invoice is available after each session, which can be viewed or downloaded from your patient portal. With that invoice, clients can usually file claims for direct reimbursement via mail, fax, email (check with your insurance carrier for recommended method to file a claim) or by using a phone app such as “Reimbursify: File Claims Fast”. Aloe Vera Counseling, PLLC makes no claims or guarantees that your insurance company will reimburse you. Please contact your insurance company for specifics. ​ To help preserve the client/therapist relationship in a professional HIPPA compliant manner, access to the therapist is limited to your scheduled appointment. Additional fees may apply for requested correspondence occurring outside the scheduled appointment time.
  • How much do sessions cost?
    To ensure our services will meet your needs, consider a Free 15-minute phone consultation. Private Pay: Graduate Student Therapist Child/Teen, Adults, Family Counseling/Parent Coaching & Relationships* First Session - $60 Following Sessions - $50 LPC- Associate - Child/Teen, Adults, Family Counseling/Parent Coaching & Relationships* First Session - $115 Following Sessions - $90 LPC - Child/Teen & Adults First Session - $145 Following Sessions - $130 LPC - Family Counseling/Parent Coaching & Relationships* First Session - $155 Following Sessions - $140 We also offer a Low-Cost Sliding Scale. If you choose to use your insurance fees will vary by plan. For specific information please contact your benefits administrator. *Additional Fees for larger families or more than 2 in a Relationship. **Other fees as applicable.
  • When is payment due?
    Payment is due the day of session and usually billed at the beginning of the day. ***Important to note: Payment for sessions taking place on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday are generally run Thursday mornings.*** Session is automatically paid by the credit card the client has on file. Must maintain a working card that can be billed upon session or other fees. If we are unable to process the card on file, we will reach out to you to update the card.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
    Debit Cards, Cash (no bills over $50) Credit Cards: Mastercard, Discover, Visa, American Express HSA* (Health Savings Account) FSA* (Flexible Spending Account) cards ​ *For questions about coverage and usage for your HSA/FSA accounts, please contact your insurance carrier regarding your plan's requirements and allowances.
  • How much is Supervised Visitation?
    Fees: Supervised Visitation Intake Paperwork - $25 per person Supervised Visitation - $50 per hour (cost can be split between parents) 1-1 Parent Education for 30 minutes $75 Co-Parenting Sessions for 1 hours $140 Mediation $150 hour, minimum 2 hours Eligibility: Must present most current Divorce Decree, ID cards, copy of Court Order (if applicable). Identification must be presented at intake and thereafter. All Intake documents must be completed prior to services. Must sign-in and sign-out. All clients are eligible, both private and CPS referrals
