Benefits of “Private Pay”- Out-of-network

• Your mental health records remain completely confidential.

• Increased confidentiality, diagnosis, treatments, and session notes are not shared with a 3rd party, therefore, do not become part of your medical record.

• Your insurance rate is not affected.

• Insurance companies will often limit number of sessions, regardless of your progress.

• Treatment is not determined by insurance but by your mental health professional.

• Insurance requires a diagnosis on the first session and can then decline to cover services if they determine your counseling services are not medically necessary.

• “Private pay” therapist typically carries smaller caseloads, have shorter waiting list, and more availability.

• YOU choose your therapist. You are not restricted to a list of providers chosen by your insurance company for you.

Please make note that:

An invoice is available after each session, which can be viewed or downloaded from your patient portal. With that invoice, clients can usually file claims for direct reimbursement via mail, fax, email (check with your insurance carrier for recommended method to file a claim) or by using a phone app such as “Reimbursify: File Claims Fast”. Aloe Vera Counseling, PLLC makes no claims or guarantees that your insurance company will reimburse you. Please contact your insurance company for specifics.
